When you travel for work, you never know what the quality of the hotel gym will be. Most times you’ll have one or two treadmills that are 20 years old, and stop moving if you look at the display screen wrong. This week, I stayed a hotel that basically had what you see above – a treadmill and a broken down recumbent bike. Fortunately, I packed my elastic bands. I use Body Lastics which I’m able to easily pack in a carry on bag (even when I’m on a 4 night trip like I was this week). I also like these because I can connect multiple bands to the handles for more resistance to the workout.
I used these this week for my back rows, bicep curls, and shoulder press combined with a squat. This way I got a full body workout, and since I tried to combined these into sets with short rest time (less than 30 seconds per set) I got a more high intensity workout. This was way better and more fun than fighting the bike. This was also good because it provided variation over my normal weight program.
If you need some guides, here are 33 exercises you can do with elastic bands.
