I've been using the Lose It! App to track my food for the last several weeks. Studies show that keeping a food diary can help you to double your weight loss. I've found it helps me be mindful of what I eat, because I have a tendency to snack a lot, especially at night. When I first started my weight loss journey, I used the Livestrong MyPlate App. It was really one of the best tools I used as it helped me see clearly how many calories I was really eating each day. I attribute this tool to having helped me shed the weight to begin with. Similar to the My Plate app, Lose It! is a food and exercise tracking app. You can manually search for foods, scan bar codes of packaged food, and enter different exercises. REVIEW: Fitdeck
I don't remember where I first heard about Fitdeck, but apparently it hit the world stage on an episode of Shark Tank (start at 16:25) While the Sharks passed on the investment, FitDeck is still a very interesting option to mix up your workout and to train for sports and fitness. A couple of months back, I purchased the Soccer FitDeck. In my experience in looking for training materials for soccer players, most material is geared toward youth soccer training and usually required multiple people to train. What I found with the Fitdeck is that the drills and exercises were easy enough to do solo, and were really geared toward all levels of experience and age when it comes to training. I've been using the deck to train with as a warm up before my pick up games, and I've found it has helped me a lot with ball skills, shooting, and dribbling with the ball.
