The majority of us work a job that requires long hours of sitting, or we live in a community where to get anywhere we have a long drive. This leads to lots of sitting everyday, all day. Excessive sitting has been linked to a number of illnesses in recent years, including heart disease. The best solution to this issue is to do more walking. To that end, Wednesday April 1 is National Walking Day, a movement (pun intended) aimed at making sure everyone gets out of their chairs and takes a 30 minute walk. How can you make sure that you take time out of your day to get a walk in? Here are some tips: Wear your sneakers to work on Wednesday. This way you'll already be ready for a stroll. Invite a friend.
