The 30 Minute Cardio Machine Triathalon

April 21, 2015 By Philip Leave a Comment

Let’s face it – we’ve all felt like the hamster in the wheel while on the treadmill or stationary bike.  It’s one of the reasons a lot of people hate cardio exercise,  because of the monotony of steady state cardio work outs.  But some times, we have no other option but to try and get in a cardio work out, indoors, on the “dreadmill”.

Here is one of the ways I like to break up the monotony – I do a Cardio Machine Triathalon!  The idea is simple:  do 10 minutes of work on any machine, then immediately move to the next machine.  Do this 3 times, and you’ve gotten in your 30 minutes of exercise!  For an added challenge, I like to make the last 4 minutes on the last machine a Tabata interval (20 seconds of all out work, 10 seconds of recovery at a moderate pace).

Here’s a sample work out you can do next time you’re in the gym:

Break up the monotony of steady state cardio with a Triathlon!

I've always hated exercise and getting on the floor, out of the question. Eight weeks ago, I didn't know what to expect or if I could successfully do the program. Philip was so patient with me and trained me at a level that I could sustain. I have never been excited about working out. I actually began to look forward to working out with him. At the end of the eight weeks, I feel stronger, I have more energy, and my sleep has improved. I'm even down seven pounds. I was so pleased with the results that I signed up for an additional eight weeks. Thanks Philip!  (Individual results may vary)
