Let’s face it – we’ve all felt like the hamster in the wheel while on the treadmill or stationary bike. It’s one of the reasons a lot of people hate cardio exercise, because of the monotony of steady state cardio work outs. But some times, we have no other option but to try and get in a cardio work out, indoors, on the “dreadmill”.
Here is one of the ways I like to break up the monotony – I do a Cardio Machine Triathalon! The idea is simple: do 10 minutes of work on any machine, then immediately move to the next machine. Do this 3 times, and you’ve gotten in your 30 minutes of exercise! For an added challenge, I like to make the last 4 minutes on the last machine a Tabata interval (20 seconds of all out work, 10 seconds of recovery at a moderate pace).
